During the pandemic I have been able to volunteer virtually at the Citizens Review Board for Children by transferring hard copy files into virtual files for volunteers. This process made it possible for the agency to continue to advocate for children and youth in Maryland despite the circumstances of coronavirus by moving forward with virtual reviews. My experience has allowed me to impact the youth around me indirectly and directly. I look forward to being able to continue volunteering in the near future.

Working with the Admissions Office and obtaining the position as President of the Admissions Student Ambassador Program has allowed me to grow as an individual and further understand what it means to have true responsibilities. During the fall semester I was able to connect with not only prospective students and their families but also tour guides, ASAP members, and the Admissions staff.

I was able to spend my summer volunteering at this private practice in Baltimore, Md. It allowed me to briefly experience what it would be like to be in the professional field I am interested in. I learned a lot about the process of obtaining new clients as well as how to properly diagnose people and to come up with a treatment plan. This experience helped more become more sure of my future career as a Clinical Psychologist.

During my time volunteering I was able to reconnect with the staff members that have known me for years. I was able to help out around the office with filing and organizing paperwork. I was also able to help put together volunteer and application packets.

My experience with the Women’s Initiative was great. I gained a lot of experience with office work and sending out professional emails. I enjoyed being able to participate in planning events. My favorite experience was our holiday gift exchange party. I look foward to doing more work with this program.
